  • Strong communication skills - placing high priority on active listening not only to the children but to communicate regularly and effectively with different people in my children's support network. This includes social workers, doctors, teachers, therapists and the birth family.
  • Conflict resolution - staying calm in stressful situations is one of the key skills I have developed over my years as a carer as well as mother of 5 boys.

  • Resilience - I have a thick skin when dealing with all the challenges faced with raising kids in out of home care.

  • Home Duties, 01/01/01, Present, Family, Vacy, NSW, I have raised 5 children for the past 22 years. Three of whom are still at school. I have always loved cooking, creating and sharing food experiences with my family and friends. I am well known for my cooking abilities. I have made several wedding cakes for family and friends and taken delight in creating amazing cakes for my kids on special occasions. I am always in the kitchen. It's my happy place. I am skilled at creating a banquet for larger family gatherings and have indeed passed on the love of food preparation to my children.
