Dementia Consultant

  • Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.
  • Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources including behaviour support planning.
  • Synthesise information, through observation and written documentation to provide recommendations that are relationship centred and informed by evidence-based best practice.
  • Author of reports that are contextualised to individual situations and people, that effect change on the ground and improve quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers.
  • Undertake a range of assessments that help to understand the holistic experience of the person and their carer network.
  • Work in partnership with the broader Dementia Support Australia to build capability across home and aged care sectors. Including working remotely and travelling nationally to provide support and education.
  • Currently leading a project trialling a new model of support for people living with dementia in the community and their support network. Findings of this project may shape future service delivery for the Australian community.
