Since the young age of four, I was always passionate about gymnastics. I began my gymnastics career in the WAG discipline, achieving level four. I then moved to the acrobatic discipline, where I achieved many goals I dreamed of since I was a little girl, recently retiring after nationals this year. I have always admired and looked up to my coaches throughout my many years of training and competing. From this experience, I aspire to be the same idol my coaches were to me for future gymnasts. At the legal age of fourteen, I was more than eager to begin coaching, resulting in my long-lasting employment at Gladstone Gymnastics Club. Throughout those seven years, I have immensely enjoyed working in the gymnastics community and wish to continue doing so, even after the completion of my university degree. I currently coach in GGC's steps program, including steps one through five, as well as the acrobatic program, including beginners, development, juniors, and seniors. I hold an intermediate WAG and ACR level coaching accreditation and am eager to continue expanding my qualifications. Due to my love for the sport, I would be more than happy coaching in any discipline. However, my true passion is in the acrobatic program, where I wish to continue sharing my knowledge and experience. Additionally, I have been a senior top, middle, and base in both trios and pairs, allowing for a further understanding of each position and the importance of what role they play.
Furthermore, I am currently doing a duel degree course in psychological science and counselling. Due to this and gymnastics close relation regarding the negative stigma surrounding mental health issues within the sport, my knowledge would be beneficial. I would be able to better understand the mental blocks and other mental illness struggles athletes may be facing. My studies would provide me with the additional ability to further comprehend why they may be facing this difficulty and how I can do everything within my power to assist them, working through any problems alongside them. In turn, I would be able to contribute the the already safe, welcoming, and accepting environment the club has.
