Sami Khan

I am a strategic and impact-driven program leader with over a decade of experience managing large-scale community, youth, and workforce development initiatives across Victoria. With a strong focus on inclusion and outcomes, I have led multidisciplinary teams, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and delivered innovative, evidence-based programs that support priority groups including young people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people with disability. I hold a Bachelor of Information Technology and am currently completing advanced qualifications in Community Sector Management, PMP, and PRINCE2. Recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Employability Professionals, I bring a proven ability to build partnerships, lead with integrity, and drive sustainable, community-focused impact.

• Spearheaded innovative initiatives, including but not limited to the Regional Employment Trials, Customer Consultative Committee, Youth Consultative Committee, Virtual Reality work experience programs, and Client Journey Mapping, driving business growth, increasing engagement, and improving service delivery
• Designed and implemented the 'Here 4 Hospitality' program, a collaboration between DES and a social enterprise to win a $300,000 grant to work with 30 participants experiencing disabilities
• Part of the tender team to work on DES, transition to work, and employability skills training tenders
• Recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Employability Professionals for contributions to advancing best practices in employment services and workforce development
• Successfully led teams through three major organizational restructures at AMES Australia, achieving an 85% staff retention rate during periods of significant uncertainty. Implemented effective change management strategies, including clear communication, staff support programs, and realignment of roles to ensure continuity and morale
• Team development and retention: turned an underperforming area in the Northwest from a -99 percentile region to a 3-star region with a 95% staff retention, saving the region from business reallocations in JSA
