Throughout my professional journey in education, I have developed a strong foundation in supporting diverse learners. I began as a School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) at the end of 2021, then transitioned into a paraprofessional role, where I honed and developed my teaching skills in small literacy and numeracy groups throughout 2022. This foundational experience gave me a deep understanding of individualized student support. After completing my Bachelor of Education in PDHPE and K-12 Special Education, I went on to teach in a variety of mainstream classes, including Mathematics and PDHPE, further expanding my instructional range. However, I found my true passion in special education, where I have spent the past two years teaching a range of KLAs to Multi-Categorical (MC) and Intellectually Mild (IM) classes. Teaching such a diverse group of students with varying needs has significantly strengthened my ability to adapt my instructional approaches. I have developed skills in differentiating content and employing a wide range of strategies to cater to students’ unique academic, social, and emotional needs. This diverse teaching experience across different classes has not only refined my skill set but also demonstrates my commitment to continually furthering my knowledge and skills to support diverse learners in achieving positive educational outcomes across a variety of settings.
