• At Alley Civil my role was a truck driver/laborer. I started at Alley Civil under a temping agency until I worked my way into a full time role with the company. Here I gained a lot of knowledge about working on civil sites. Things such as how to keep myself and others safe and how to think ahead. I felt I was very liked person in the company by the way I could take instructions from the workers and supervisors. I was really keen to learn as much as I could from everyone on site and in the office. Working for Alley gave me the opportunity to operate the escalators from time to time in the yard. Although it wasn’t my main role for the company I feel as though now I am capable of operating confidentiality. Obtaining my voc for operating machinery has become one of my goals.
• I have decided to move on from this role because there is no clear path for me to move forward in the civil industry with Alley Civil. Although they have given me a lot of experience in this space I feel as though now I know I am capable of much more. I hope to one day be an operator and or some sort of leading hand in the civil space.

• Optimized scaffold system stability by accurately measuring, cutting, and positioning materials as per blueprint guidelines.

• At Motus transport working as a truck driver for a small family owned transport business.
• We delivered mostly kegs and cases to venues around the Sydney area. I am driving a MR truck but hold a HR license. I did enjoy this role but feel as though I was yearning for something a bit more hands on and physical. Hours did vary with this role and so I looked for something with more hours and more money with OT

• Here I was a laborer for a demolition mob. I really did enjoy the day to day physical side of this role and liked using the tools that were needed for this role. Some of the tools I was using were jackhammers, electrical drills and reciprocators. There were some days I would operate manaus and a bobcat although this wasn’t very often. Some days I would be on site doing the general labouring work and other days I would be in a truck taking waste to tips. This was my first job when I moved to Sydney Australia and I got along with all of the other workers and still remain good friends with some of the team. I left because work was beginning to slow down and I was keen to give something else a go.
