With 4 years of experience as a Principal/Teacher at Nganambala School Top End Remote Schools, I have gained valuable expertise, guidance, and support from my local colleagues. Collaboratively, we have enhanced the learning experience and achieved positive outcomes for the entire school community. Professional development opportunities provided by the DoE Leadership Professional Development team have strengthened my role as a Principal, enabling effective implementation of the DoE Strategic Policy through our school's Annual Strategic Improvement Plan (ASIP). Our ASIP embraces collaborative approaches identified by our dedicated staff, community members, and School Council. Drawing on these experiences and training, I align with the vision of the Northern Territory Department of Education and effectively promote improved educational outcomes for our school and students. Additionally, I prioritize providing comprehensive training for staff in all aspects of classroom management to ensure effective teaching and learning. Creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment is paramount. Over the past 23 years, I have taught in Government and Independent Schools, with a preference for remote schools across primary, middle, and secondary levels. Each school exists within its own unique geographical community, where student learning is shaped by language, culture, history, vision, and values. As an Indigenous classroom teacher with extensive experience in teaching and education, one of my greatest strengths lies in establishing meaningful connections with Indigenous students, Indigenous Teacher Assistants, teachers, parents, communities, as well as government and non-government agencies at all levels.
