Sam is a relationship-driven entrepreneur known for his strengths in business development, networking, strategy, and culture. He co-founded BikeExchange in 2007 with childhood friend Jason Wyatt, evolving it from humble beginnings to a global marketplace, culminating in a successful ASX listing in 2021 with a market cap of $78 million. Initially, Sam was the sole employee for the first 18 months, focusing on business development and influencing various departments including marketing, customer success, and product development.
Under their leadership, BikeExchange won the Telstra Business Awards in 2012 and both were recognized as Ernst & Young Regional Emerging Entrepreneurs in 2013. They later shared their technology platform with other entrepreneurs, leading to the creation of seven new marketplaces.
This demand prompted Sam and Jason to establish Marketplacer, a leading marketplace SaaS platform that has raised over $100 million in capital, expanded into global markets, and assisted over 90 businesses, including major corporations like Myer, Woolworths, and Qantas, in executing their marketplace strategies.
