As a shearer I remove wool and hair from sheep, goats, alpacas and other animals using specialist shearing tools. I am employed to shear as many sheep per day as I can, including crutching sheep, witch means removing wool from breech area of sheep to prevent dag and flystrike. The job requires good concentration, good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina to bring the animals from pen to shearing station. The selection of of the right shearing comb for the right type of wool and sheep is very important. That is including maintaining and preparing own shearing equipment.
