· Working closely to assist the registered nurse.

· Collaborate well within a multidisciplinary team and manage a varied workload with competing priorities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

· Supervise daily hygiene – showers or baths, shaving, cutting nails; lay out clothes and assist in dressing; make beds and tidy rooms; store clothes and clean wardrobes.

· Assist with meals and feeding.

· Recognize, report and respond appropriately to changes in the condition of patients.

· Running art, music, and cooking groups within the ward to engage the patients.

PEP 5 Lismore Base Hospital Lismore Community / Primary Health 27/11/2023 - 15/12/2023 (120 Hrs)

· Explored different departments and gained further insight into the general ward (central allocated ward), Operating theatres, Palliative care unit, Rehab unit, Renal unit and Endoscopy unit.

· Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams such as diabetic educators, dieticians and social workers, discharge nurses, physiotherapists, and speech pathologists.

· Attended case conferences and evaluated care plans.

PEP 4 Lismore Base Hospital Lismore Mental Health Unit 13/11/2023 - 24/11/2023 (80 Hrs)

· Gained experience in the drug and alcohol department and community setting.

· Involved in acute patient care for a diverse consumer population.

· Participated in psychoeducation, case conferences, electroconvulsive therapy and MDT meetings.

· Under the preceptor's supervision, performed initial assessment, mental state assessment, cannabis and drug and alcohol withdrawal assessment.

· I got an opportunity for a home visit to perform and document the assessment under supervision.

PEP 3 Lismore Base Hospital - Surgical IPU 22/05/2023 - 9/06/2023 (120 Hrs)

· Experience and knowledge gained working with Oncology patients after being placed in the E9 ward.

· Carrying out basic care and looking into consumer preferences or needs.

· Completed medication rounds and gained further insight into medication administration, procedures, and protocols.
