A talented, self-driven and results focussed professional, Sandi is an exceptional communicator and a proactive problem solver. With more than 25 years’ experience in project management, her rail-related roles over the past 15+ years have seen her play various key roles in some of largest rail projects to be delivered in Queensland, including the $4.4b New Generation Rollingstock (NGR), $500m Jilalan Rail Yard Upgrade and $1.2b Goonyella to Abbot Point Expansion Project. As Project Manager for TMR, she is currently delivering the $330m Accessibility Variation Project (AVP).

  • Adept at working with multiple stakeholders across all levels to build relationships through understanding the issues and drivers, then consulting to align responses and behaviours that deliver desired project solutions/outcomes.

  • Through a collaborative co-design process worked with our Project Working Group (PWG) comprising representatives of various disability sector organisations to design what were at the time the most compliant trains in Australia.
  • Considered a knowledgeable leader and proactive problem solver, engendered collaboration between six project partners, while emphasising the prioritisation of activities to align with and achieve project goals.
  • Established effective communication forums between project partners for enhanced collaboration and streamlined/fast-tracked processes to support on-time project completion.
  • Brought a practical, logical, can-do attitude to the project and through it challenged and supported others to achieve their best.
  • After five years, about to deliver this project ahead of schedule.

  • Facilitated cross-functional cooperation in daily meetings and delivery of daily data for the Payment and Performance area with multiple project partners - State, Queensland Rail, Alstom (Bombardier).
  • Oversaw transition of the State team and its functions from design to operations.
  • Collaboratively developed and documented systems and approaches to achieve daily and long-term goals.
  • Led a team in the update of the bespoke software system previously designed to incorporate the requirements of the new AVP contract and the phased introduction of the upgraded fleet over several years.

  • Led a bespoke software solution project to deliver Payment and Performance (P&P) system requirements for daily use in the Operations Phase of NGR (still in use by PRS P&P).
  • Interpreted contract terms and provided guidance on contractual matters to the software development team.
  • Coordinated software interfaces between the State, Queensland Rail and Alstom so all parties solutions were aligned and supported daily Payment and Performance
  • Consulted with TMR IT support on hosting solutions for the State's data needs and effective/efficient operation of the program in that environment.
  • Post implementation facilitated daily meetings to review performance of the NGR fleet and the resolution of disagreements on performance outcomes between the State (asset owner), Queensland Rail (operator) and Alstom (maintainer).
  • Compiled required documentation, including technical and user manuals to support the long-term use of the system and ongoing compliance with contract requirements.

In this national role as well as overseeing a delivery team played a key role on projects such as:

  • Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail: Coordinated input from teams of subject matter experts, and provided technical editing and consultancy services on ARTC documentation.
  • Queensland Rail Mayne Rail Precinct Master Plan: Directed development of original submission, and subsequent Stage reports, co-lead in workshop development and facilitation process.
  • Seconded to Parsons Brinkerhoff Hong Kong office to provide assistance with the tender for the multi-billion-dollar Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge proposal to Hong Kong Government.
