  • Position involved facilitating face-to-face classes with adults, predominantly Job Seekers; fortnightly classes via Teams for 40+ trainees with three (3) different Disability/Aged Care service providers and individualised support for learners with particular learning barriers
  • The primary objective was to customise Assessment tools, conditions and/or environments to suit the learning needs of each learner to ensure that they achieved success
  • During 2021-21, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant negative impact on many industries and the learners/students were undergoing studies with a goal of transferring to a different and unfamiliar industry ie Aged Care, Disability Services or Home & Community Care
  • Success was achieved by all students because they possessed a myriad of transferable skills, coupled with their 'thirst to learn', which in turn, led them to obtaining paid, meaningful and different employment to their previous work/career backgrounds
  • Provided regular and ongoing support, guidance and liaisons with companies who partnered with ETC to assist them to upskill their workforce, via formal traineeships
  • The courses and qualifications that I delivered, facilitated, assessed no evaluated were:- Intro2Care - comprising three (3) Units of Competency- Certificate III - Individual Support (specialisation in Ageing, Disability and Home & Community Care- Certificate IV - Disability- Certificate IV - Community Services- Certificate IV - Ageing Support
  • All learning & Knowledge Assessments were conducted online via the Learning Management System, Catapult, classroom activities simulating a workplace environment and Workplace Observations for the Performance components and the student record-keeping system used was Axcelerate
  • The various IT systems used frequently and daily were:- Catapult- Axcelerate- Aurion (HR & Payroll)- Teams- ETC's Intranet- Microsoft suite of,programs eg Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint etc
  • Empowered students with knowledge, skills and practical simulated workplace scenarios to assist them to be prepared for the 'real' workplaces and situations in the Aged Care, Disability and Home & Community sector/s

  • Developed individual Training Plans for adult learners / Job Seekers, facilitated face-to face classes for:- Skillsets, comprising three (3) units of competency from the Certificate III - Individual Support Qualification (specialisation in Ageing Support, Disability and Home & Community- Certificate III - Individual Support
  • Adapt and individualise learning and assessment tools / activities to support and assist learners with learning barriers, including disclosed Dyslexia, ADHD, Mental Illness, PTSD, Acquired Brain Injury, hearing and/or sight impairment etc
  • Performed similar reasonable adjustments to Assessment tools and activities for many students who had minimal digital literacy skills, English was their 2nd or 3rd preferred language, LLN skills were negligible and their level of self-confidence, self-worth and self-esteem were low
  • It was always a privilege and an honour to visually see the personal growth in students during their studies and they would 'bloom and flourish' whilst also enhancing their opportunities to gain paid employment and to improve their self-confidence and self-worth.
