Summary

I love to solve learning and communication problems for clients. I do this by analysing training needs, crystallising and clarifying objectives and concepts, determining effective treatments and writing key messages that stick! These solutions are simple but informative, oftentimes fun, always relatable and ultimately enhance retention and impact effective learning.

I like to bring a creative and analytical mind to my work and have 17 years’ experience working across government, health care, tertiary education, finance, transport, manufacturing, retail and government.

My knowledge of learning theories and methodologies, as well as my passion for human-centred design helps transform content into meaningful learning experiences.

Working closely with the project team, I typically follow a process of consultation and design; analysing data, responding to briefs, clarifying objectives, mapping architecture, content workshops, ideating creative treatments, storyboarding and writing content.

Along the way I collaborate with stakeholders, systems architects, subject matter experts, art directors and graphic artists, video producers, software developers and project managers. I use Miro to map ideas and architecture, Articulate 360 to create elearning modules, vYond to create animations, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, and Azure DevOps.

  • Company Overview: Peninsula Hot Springs Group continues its growth phase, with the sister springs, Metung Hot Springs, recently opened and others sister sites soon to follow. To accommodate this growth, the business is implementing an integrated systems solution, combining Microsoft Dynamics 365 (business management solution) with LS Retail (retail, reservation and guest experience solution).
  • I have been contracted to manage the change and learning needs for the implementation phase of the project. This involves working closely with the project team to establish current states and future states, training strategies and plans, map business processes, write change management communication, design, develop and deliver training (including workshops, coaching sessions, instructional videos, elearning lessons, job aids etc) for duty managers, reservation staff, food and beverage attendants, guest attendants and finance staff.
  • As an active member of the project team, I work alongside business stakeholders, systems architects, test consultants, business operations staff, subject matter experts and project managers, using Azure DevOps to track completion.

  • Australia Post has recent and persistent problems with licensees breaching workplace law obligations. I was contracted to work with Australia’s Post’s corporate lawyer to design and produce an on-line learning solution and handbook to educate all Australia Post licensees about their workplace law obligations. The solution was developed using Articulate RISE to meet WCAG 2.1 standards.

  • In the space of four months I consulted, designed, wrote and produced Articulate RISE e-learns, vYond animations and training plans to educate incoming Victorian Hotel Quarantine staff. Subjects include Emergency Management, Respectful Workplaces, Day in the Life of an Authorised Officer, Day in the Life of a RESO, Inside our Bubbles and more.

  • Safety Leadership, Coles
  • Coles are working hard to build a culture of safety in the DNA. As part of a national rollout, we produced a learning solution to support cultural aspirations and inspire managers across all business units. The modules examine the importance of the safety mindset and ways to build a safety culture. It includes interactive learning content and candid interviews with leaders across all business units; Supermarkets, Express, Liquor and Supply Chain.
  • De-escalation, Coles
  • Threatening and abusive behaviour is an increasing threat to Coles retail staff. We produced a ‘choose your own adventure’ approach to educate all staff on ways to recognise and de-escalate customer rage and stay safe in threatening situations.
  • Robbery Response, Coles Express
  • Armed robbery is an increasing threat in the retail industry and, more specifically, for Coles Express staff. To educate staff on how to stay safe during a robbery incident we produced a story-led learning module that steps the learner through a typical robbery scenario, examining protection, and the safe and not so safe approaches to personal safety.

  • Staying safe and healthy at work is a key driver for Coles supermarkets. We produced an involving ‘day in the life’ learning module to look at everyday safe work practices for Coles Deli staff.
  • Bee Safe, Coles
  • Coles take a preparedness approach to emergency situations. We produced a learning solution to educate all staff on newly documented emergency procedures. This was an upbeat, simple, informative look at how to stay safe in emergencies in Coles Liquor stores.

  • White Sky Labs needed to train prospective software consultants on expert consultancy skills. Working alongside software experts, I designed a five day workshop that allowed participants to pull together their Murosoft knowledge and agile project management skills into a cohesive consultancy practice.

  • Work On Track
  • Metro trains were deploying a new geographic interface system to improve scheduling of work on the rail track. I designed and developed short interactive learning modules, using Articulate RISE, Peek and Replay, to educate rail staff on how to use the system to complete everyday tasks.
  • Toolbox Talks
  • In response to a near fatality, Metro Trains were educating all rail staff on new safety processes and procedures. I wrote a series of twenty-minute informal training sessions, delivered by supervisors, trackside or on-site locations.
