• Educating patients about prescribed medications, proper use and potential side effects for post-operative medications.
• Maintaining constant communication with Orthopaedic Specialist and other members of the clinic team.
• Promoting continuity of care with thorough documentation of medical histories, vital signs, observations, interventions, and results.
• Providing compassionate support to patients at their post-operative appointments with advice regarding medications, pain control, post-operative exercises and wound management.

• Working in an acute orthopaedic ward, caring for post-operative patients. Working closely with the surgeons, physicians and physiotherapists.
• Reviewing post-operative orders and continuously monitoring patients' post-operative vitals, set up PCA and fluids and oriented patients to unit.
• Implementing medication and IV administration.
• Administering medications via oral, IV and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Training graduate nurses and students in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Collaborating with physicians and surgeons to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.
• Managing care from admission to discharge.
• Educating patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle options.
