Work History

Volunteer Keeper

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
03.2023 - Current
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal responsibility. I treat the animals in my care as I would my own.
  • Skilled at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment whether is be splitting up to get jobs done or rounding up an animal to be hospitalised.
  • I pride myself in new environments with fast learning skills and the ability to adapt to whatever is thrown my way.
  • I have an eye for detail especially when it comes to certain individuals in my care that I need to look out for.
  • Observations are key and seeing any animal acting out of the ordinary or with healthcare concerns I know to notify the current vet immediately.
  • Cleanliness is very important to me. In my volunteer workplace, chopping boards are coloured for different foods and everything must be washed thoroughly and sprayed with F10.

  • I believe I have an around experience with smaller to large mammals and I truly care for their welfare to the best of my ability.

  • Positive attitude- this includes working with keepers through all works of life no matter what we are going though to losses of wildlife

(were all learning constantly and developing to the needs of our animals)
  • Problem-solving- In the area I work in, I feel i am great at problem solving If there isn't a broom i will use a dust pan If there aren't gloves available I will get a new package If the browse is a bit crispy but we don't have enough, I will tell the keeper on duty and hopefully source some more
