Flotilla Training Officer

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery and implementation of Coast Guard RTO training activities for the membership of the Werribee flotilla
  • Conduct training needs analysis within the flotilla and plan/schedule training activities accordingly
  • Participate in the leadership forum as a core member of the executive team, providing advice relating to the training portfolio including regular reporting.


Achievements

  • Created Google Site to support membership in better understanding the training requirements. This including providing course mapping information and embedding video content. Commenced new Google Site to cover induction for new members.

Personal Interests

  • Volunteer with the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, boat crew (commenced May 2021) and Flotilla Training Officer (commenced July 2023). My aim is to work my way up to a Coxswain qualification.
  • Sailing (keelboat racing) – active member of Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, regular participant in twilight racing in Port Phillip Bay during summer season, member of the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV) participating in offshore ocean racing. I have completed the Melbourne to Apollo Bay race, and am keen to complete a Melbourne to Hobart once I have built up my skills.
