Sasha Smith

I am currently completing my HSC at Colo High School. I’ve recently received early entry into university, planning to study k-12 Education and major in Art ultimately to pursue a career as a high school teacher and or primary teacher. I have a strong passion for working with children, particularly those who require extra support, and I believe that every child is unique and deserves an adaptable, caring approach to learning. I pride myself on being flexible, empathetic, and eager to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. In 2023, I completed Child Studies and placed first in my class. I also placed first in Community and Family Studies in 2024–2025, which deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of children and families.

Outside of school, I’ve worked at the Bilpin Fruit Bowl for the past six years and am currently in a management role. This job has taught me leadership, responsibility, and strong communication skills .I’ve lived in Bilpin since kindergarten, attending Bilpin Public School before moving on to Colo High. My roots in this community run deep, and I hope to one day give back by teaching and supporting students in rural or regional areas.
