I am a Year 11 student looking to begin my career as an Electrician through a 1st Year Electrical Apprenticeship. After gaining exposure to electrical work and working in fast-paced jobs, I’ve recognised that I enjoy practical, hands-on work and being part of a structured team. I’m eager to start learning properly and working towards a future that genuinely means something to me. I’m motivated to develop strong technical skills and commit long-term to becoming a qualified and dependable electrician.
Working at Glenhaven Pizza & Pasta has helped me develop strong communication, customer service and time management skills. My role involves answering phone calls, taking customer orders accurately and helping customers with any questions they may have. I also assist with food preparation and cleaning, which has taught me responsibility, attention to detail and the importance of maintaining a clean and organised workplace. Working in a busy environment has improved my ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly and manage multiple tasks at once. Through this role, I have become more confident in working with others, solving problems and contributing positively to a team.
Working at Zeus Street Greek has taught me what fast-paced and people-focused hospitality really is. I’ve been trained across front and back of house, including the use of cooking equipment and other food preparation. I’ve learnt how to manage the busiest parts of service while keeping the store running smoothly, how to communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly when things change. I enjoy being part of a team where everyone supports each other, and I’ve developed stronger time management, confidence and a real appreciation for what it takes to create a positive customer experience. This job has helped me build responsibility and the ability to connect with customers and coworkers in a respectful, friendly way.
I spent a week with TfNSW learning about their careers, workplace environment and had hands on experience with domestic electrical work. I learnt how to work collaboratively with people of all ages and abilities and thrive through connection and participation. I appreciate all the hard work put into the operations of our trains and how much an organisation can accomplish as an inclusive community. I found that this was an extremely beneficial experience where I developed my commitment, time management, and love for the respectful bond between coworkers.
