  • The platform helps customers dramatically reduce their time and costs associated with scheduling, time and attendance management, invoicing, payroll, and compliance.
  • The business is active in Australia, NZ, USA, and Canada, with the majority of growth coming from the USA
  • Implemented cost savings initiatives that reduced cash burn by 70% whilst still retaining growth
  • Achieved company growth by implementing strategic plans resulting in a 300% increase in US revenue in the past 12 months and an overall CAGR of 80% globally.

Chief Product Officer

Ascender HCM

  • Ascender is the leading payroll and HCM software provider and outsourced services in Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region
  • Owned by PE firm Potentia, Ascender was an amalgamation of several investments across Asia Pacific
  • As the CPO, my priority was to develop and implement the product strategy that would result in a universal interface to be used across all five products
  • I also developed the architectural strategy to better utilise the various products' core functions and combine our HCM offering across our payroll platforms
  • In the first quarter of 2021, Potentia (PE owner) successfully sold Ascender HCM to US firm Ceridian
  • I led the product and technical due diligence function during the due diligence process
  • This was a very successful exit for investors.

  • Emprevo is an unlisted public company that developed a unique application for helping businesses to fill vacant shifts
  • It was in its startup phase when I took over in 2018 after being commercialised in late 2017
  • Being in start-up mode (although well-funded), my role was very hands-on across all aspects of the business
  • Achieved significant company growth by implementing my strategic plan that added more than 50,000 workers to the platform and secured over 100 corporate users
  • I led the capital-raising effort to secure multi-round funding from existing and new investors that provided the financial security for the business's future growth
  • Developed a high-performance executive team for improved productivity and efficiency
  • Oversight and responsibility of all aspects of the business, including, sales, marketing, finance, operations, and development

Learning Seat

  • Servicing more than 850,000 users, Learning Seat was Australia’s largest provider of Learning Management systems, online compliance and professional development training
  • As the CEO, my primary function was to grow the business, develop and implement strategic plans, and streamline operations.
  • Learning Seat was jointly owned by US PE firm The Riverside Company and Australian investment firm Wingate.
  • Achieve continued excellent compound growth over my 5 years in charge
  • I drove a culture of continual improvement and ensured all key executives were the right people, in the right roles, with clear direction
  • Expanded market share through successful acquisitions
  • Other functions included managing day-to-day operational performance, identifying, assessing and integrating acquisition opportunities, staff development, meet financial and sales objectives, and provide leadership in all areas of the business
  • In December 2017, completed a successful and profitable exit of the business through a trade sale to a US-based SaaS provider.

  • Computershare is the world’s largest provider of share registry services
  • In addition to the registry business, Computershare has several other divisions, including Communication Services, which specializes in all inbound and outbound communication
  • I worked for the Communication Services business to help develop a new BPO digital mailroom service that Computershare was looking to provide in the Australian market
  • In the 3 years at Computershare, the BPO digital mailroom service became an integral part of Communication Services
  • I was directly responsible for some significant new business wins
  • Enhanced revenue growth through negotiating and securing long-term contracts with key clients.
  • Key clients: Superpartners was the largest new business deal that Computershare had ever won, worth more than $60m
  • The other key project was based around all activity with NAB
  • NAB became the fastest-growing account (multi-million dollar) at Computershare
  • Services included outbound mail services, digital mailroom, accounts receivable processing, and superannuation services.

  • Stellar is the voice behind some of the world’s most loved brands
  • They provide their clients with outsourced customer engagement solutions – from contact centres to consulting – that help to reshape and refine their customer journey
  • As Group GM Sales, I also sat on the Group Executive committee for the broader business that included the CEO, CIO, COO and CFO
  • I was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Customer service, Commercial Contracts and Strategy – a team of around 50 people spread across Australia
  • Helped establish an operation in Manila, Philippines, that now employs over 1,200 people
  • During the GFC, helped retain all major clients and added several major contracts, including Jetstar, Australian Electoral Commission, NT Government, and Toll
  • Achieved budget YOY, in a tough economic environment, and played a key role in helping the business transform from a ‘Call Centre’ provider to a full BPO service provider.

  • ALC was a two-partner company that I founded in 1999
  • It specialized in developing software to automate the Purchase to Pay and Accounts Receivable process
  • From a standing start, my partner and I created a business that became the leading supplier of Purchase to Pay workflow solutions in Australia, winning numerous blue-chip clients
  • Successfully sold the business to a large US based BPO
  • With limited resources, we developed a business that had a national presence and a reputation for delivering an excellent product with a highly committed team supporting it
  • Convincing business partners, clients and staff, to believe in our vision and our business was challenging considering we were a start-up, but we achieved it.
