As grounds coordinator I oversee all ground/pitch preparation. I am responsible for restocking all expandable items like fuel, paint, and paying a worker who cares for one of the wickets. I tend the best two turf grounds;

• Mowing square and field
• Rolling square and pitch
• Watering square
• Whipper snipping obstacles
• Spraying weed killer or fertilizer
• Pest and weed identification
• Top Dressing square

I helped pick and box produce; ginger, strawberries and watermelon on days he had orders. Because it is an organic farm I would whipper snip through the rows of ginger or hand pick through the field of strawberries and at the end of season we would remove the weed matting.

As part of the trade college I attended, I had the opportunity to partake in work experience for six weeks, learning how it operates and to see if I would ever be interested to take it as a career path. In the six weeks I;

• Mowed rough
• Rolled greens
• Moved holes on greens
• Blew fairways
• Whipper snipped
• Cleaned sand bunkers
• Machinery Washdown and basic maintenance

• Boxing/bagging plants for shipping
• Pest and weed identification
• Fertilizing
• Top dressing plants
• Potting plants
