After successfully owning and operating our family restaurant, Republique, also located in Batemans Bay, we have decided to sell Republique to spend more time with our children and wish to stay in the area.

My work ethic has always been something I am immensely proud of and feel that I have great communication skills and enjoy interacting with all people on all levels. My current role at The Esplanade Motel started primarily as receptionist, I received comprehensive training in RMS and all other facets of the business and quickly became knowledgeable in all aspects of running the motel, so much so that I now take on many management duties including overnight / holiday relief for the current managers, housekeeping and scheduling of rosters for housekeeping staff. I have quickly grasped the function and tasks of interacting with third party online accommodation providers and have developed many relationships with return guests and Corporate customers. I pride myself on my customer service skills and enjoy interacting with all customers on all levels. My skills and knowledge are continuing to grow in the following areas listed below. Collaborate with third party travel shopping company team members including but not limited to Booking.com and Expedia to handle guest requirements from check-in through check-out.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee all front desk operations including management of rates and guest reviews
  • Kep accounts in balance and run daily and monthly reports to verify totals.
  • Enter customer data using RMS software and updated information whenever guests required.
  • Greet and assist guests at reception using dynamic service skills and engaging in pleasant conversations while managing check-in process.
  • Inspect guest rooms, lobbies and common areas to verify cleanliness and tidiness.

This was a passion project that my husband and I have wanted to achieve for a long time derived out of a combination of a love of great food and wine and opportunity.

Republique Bistro & Bar is an upmarket French styled bistro. I have put my heart and soul into the entire project from the inception phase through to interior design, furniture, menu development and beverage offer. Republique has been well received by both locals and visitors alike.

15 months on and the business is achieving the expectations that were set in the business plan. Additionally Republique is gaining a solid reputation as one of the best restaurants on the south coast of NSW.

After selling Delta Security Communications, my family and I returned to the south coast and I began my role at Mogo Zoo.

This was a challenging role and I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the position from the initial contact and building a relationship with the customer through all interaction during their visit to working with them to resolve any concerns or complaints and making sure they departed with a great impression.

I also enjoyed working closely with management to revitalise both the Gift Shop and Food and Beverage offer with a comprehensive refurbishment as well as implementing additional up close and personal animal encounters. I left this position to develop a passion project with my husband.

Delta Security Communications was the first opportunity to develop our own business.

Delta security communications was primarily a Monitoring Centre and began with 35 Monitored Clients/Lines at start up, within 5 years we had built the core business of monitoring up to 1350 clients, as well as developing new revenue streams in sales and installation of Alarm systems and CCTV, in a very competitive market. We sold this Business to OnWatch Security.
