Rotation 1: COVID/Surgical/Vascular

• Proficiency working with complex respiratory patients and managing oxygen systems (high flow).
• Appropriately managed desaturating patients and escalated as appropriate.
• Gained expertise in reducing post-operative complications through effective patient education and mobility techniques.
• Experience in cardiorespiratory techniques, such as sputum clearance, manual assisted cough, and positioning.

Rotation 2: Renal

• Independently managed and prioritized a ward with a clinically heavy and large caseload, and made use of AHA as required.

• Recognised signs of complications arising from injury or disease process that require escalation to other healthcare professionals and senior staff.

Rotation 3: Adult Rehab (Craigieburn)

• Further developed clinical reasoning skills and the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on plausible hypotheses ascertained from an in-depth assessment.
• Liaise with external care providers to advocate for optimal patient outcomes.
• Designed home exercise programs tailored towards each patient's individual needs.
• Lead and manage exercise groups, while tracking patient progress.
• Significant development is musculoskeletal physiotherapy skills, and the ability to diagnose and manage pathology.

Weekends:

• Experience working in ICU, ED, CPEU, CAHU, and RCU.
• Ability to appropriately triage referrals based on priority.
• Wide variety of experience in expertly managing all types of pathology where physiotherapy may be required (fracture, vestibular, surgical, respiratory, amputation, orthopaedic, neurological, acute injury).

• Assist with maintenance and renovations, i.e., painting/plastering, carpentry, landscaping, and tiling.
• Excellent foundation for a 'hands-on approach' if/when required.
