I am a reliable, hardworking employee seeking a position within Queensland Fire & Rescue. With history of working in the Construction Industry and the Defence Force, I offer excellent communication and good judgment, I am dedicated to achieving goals & tasks that are set for me. While in the Defence Force I was required to operate a number of vehicles for my role. I am skilled in working under pressure and adapting to new situations on the fly. I have spent six and a half years within the Australian Defence Force, where I gained a range of skills and experience. I am highly motivated and believe in a work ethic that involves integrity, respect, initiative and teamwork. I am currently a Belt Splicer working on large Mine Site in central QLD as well as Quarries & Factories in and around the Brisbane area.
In my currently role as a Team Leader my duties are but not limited to: Working with my crew of 3 to insure we are installing the passenger or vehicle lifts safety and on time. My role includes inducting new install crew members into the company, as well as provided them with the correct training and knowledge to complete the job safety and confidently. Day to day my role is to work in the lift shaft with the team that requires the most amount of assistance or at the job that is the most complex to install. The lift shafts I work in range from 1.8m wide by 1.8m deep up to 4m wide to 6m deep & from heights up to 30m. My core role is to lead the installation of the passenger or vehicle lift from start to finish, while ensuring the team is safe and efficient. I am currently working on-sites from South Gold Coast to North Brisbane & occasionally fly interstate for lift installs
While working as a lift installer my roles were to unload to lift from the flatbed truck, move the lift boxes to the install site via pellet jack (lobby or Basement), install scaffolding from basement to top of the lift shaft, prep the lift for ease of install, mark out the lift shaft ready for drilling & bracket placement. I install chain blocks in top of the lift shaft and other personnel safety equipment to ensure we can complete our tasks in a safe manner. Once the lift is ready for install, I will work with the crew to install & construct all lift components inside and out of the lift shaft. This will include all lift brackets, running cables, lift cabin, counterweight, motor install (including testing and tuning), security wiring and controller panel installation & loading of weight into the counterweight. This is the most physical demanding part of the job as you are required to carry 30kg weights to the middle of the lift shaft and load them into the counterweight outside of the scaffolding. Over the time frame of the lift being installed I am providing daily updates to the site manager to ensure the builder is kept up to date with the progress

As a member of a Gun Detachment, you must be able to acknowledge orders and carry out your drills on the gun when required. A Gun Detachment can be stressful, fast-paced and physically demanding. The ability to adapt to many different situations and surroundings is essential to the role. Despite these factors, it is also important to maintain high dress and fitness standards while in the barracks.
Detachment 2IC
As second in command whilst in this position, I was required to ensure the Gun Detachment was working at its full potential. When called upon I stepped up as Commander for the Gun Detachment, receiving orders from higher-ranking members of the Defence force. It was my Detachment's task to carry out Prisoner of War handling when needed, another necessary fulfilment is to work with different individuals in various environments when appropriate.
Despite the value of topics already disgusted this career requires you to always keep in mind that personal safety and the health of those around you I the number one priority. No matter your position your team is your responsibility as your actions, whether they be mindful or careless, affect everybody.
