Skills

    Teamwork

Here are examples of when I used teamwork as a skill: I have used teamwork when I play sports for my cricket club and during interschool sports I have developed this skill to prepare for the real world where in the future I will have to work with others no matter how rude, annoying or whether they are similar to me or not Teamwork helps me to cope and also develop bonds with others Other instances where I developed teamwork is at school where I will have to cooperate with my group members to finish tasks This skill helps me work with other people and develops my handling of various types of people

    Verbal Communication

  • I as a person, communicate well in different scenarios or situations including group projects/activities or sports games and drills Here are the following examples of my communication: Whenever I have a group project and activity, organisation is key and this is why I distribute or ask others what task they will be doing in this shared project and I try to lead upfront
  • During interschool sports, it is key to communicate with my players about their roles, and team strategy, and just the encouragement of my players For example in cricket I discuss what field I want to set, the bowlers I will bowl, and the batting lineup for the team This communication is critical for the success and performance of the team
  • Critical Thinking

  • In projects or tests such as essays I think 'outside the box' and don't just answer the question but also think about the 5 W's, analyse deeply, and ask myself, ''Are there any factors or what does this mean?"
  • Critical thinking doesn't only have to be related to academics, from my experience it is almost as important in sports For example, when I play cricket for my club, our teammates and I ask about the strategies to use on game day and the fielding, bowling, and batting tactics

Personal Qualities

Verbal Communication:

I have a recognised ability to communicate with a range of individuals and backgrounds throughout my 8-year period of playing cricket for a club and taking the leadership and initiative for bowling.

Commitment and Dedication:

Previously as mentioned I have a great passion for sports specifically AFL of which I watch every single game and own an AFL membership for the team I support (Richmond FC).

Reliable:

I am very consistent with whatever I do and have a good habit. For example, in academics, I always complete my work/tasks on time and do not procrastinate when assigned one. Furthermore, in sports, I have been very consistent whenever I play only going under the radar on rare instances and never trying to let my team down.

Honest:

I am an honest person and honesty is something I take seriously as it is a pivotal part and factor of cooperating and working with others. I am honest not only as it is good but it sets the ethical and moral foundations of myself and is important as I want to reflect ethical workforce habits.
