Senior Area Coordinator

After spending some time temporarily filling in for roles as Senior Area Coordinator and Area Manager I was appointed a permanent senior Area Coordinator role on afternoon shift.
The job role is quite broad and covers overseeing the whole shift in every aspect from rosters and Labour management to people and performance ensuring all these align with business models and reaching production targets.

I manage a team of 4 Area Coordinators who are my direct reports. Together we oversee the production and operations of the production lines and floor. 70+ employees and 4-5 production lines.
In this role I have had experience in:

~Recruitment for new staff
~Site induction for new staff
~Developing my team through effective leadership and mentoring
~Responsible for line performance and production standards
~Effectively communicating with maintenance on breakdowns and planned works
~Responsible for ensuring safety and quality assurance for people and products
~Manage a team of 70_ people on the production floor
~Required to manage staff injuries and apply appropriate workplace health and safety procedures, using early intervention and reporting through INX platform

~Drawing up return to work plans
~Networking with recruitment and training departments to meet expected skill standards
~Food safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point compliance
~First aid
~Fire warden: Responsible for fire and evacuation procedures, training and drill
~Responsible for facilitating team building activities

Area Coordinator

During my time at Don I have been in a number of roles:

CRYOVAC- (afternoon shift) CHRISTMAS CASUAL, progressed and become a loadout line operator

HAM SLICING- (afternoon shift) MACHINE OPERATOR- learning several lines and training new line operators. Had experience as a stand in Area Coordinator and Quality operator.

BACON SLICING- (afternoon shift)- MACHINE OPERATOR- have experience on several lines and have trained new line operators. Became a fill in Area Coordinator and progressed to full time area coordinator

BACON SLICING-(dayshift) AREA COORDINATOR- Moved to dayshift to further my understanding of the differences of the two shifts and to build a network of resources with people and support functions. During this time I have gained experience as a fill in Area manager and have completed a six week secondment as a Senior Area Coordinator which transitioned to a permanent role.

Moving to dayshift shift has been my biggest experience for people leadership and effective communication between other streams and support functions within the business. I was also able to pass on my knowledge and coach other co-workers to develop them in current roles and increase their skills to progress to new roles within the team.
