I worked as a mainstream 3rd class teacher (8-9 year olds). This school was classified as a DEIS (disadvantaged) School. Here, I delivered education to pupils from various backgrounds with specific educational and care needs. With this school having a special needs unit, I was also able to observe and practice personalised provisions for children with complex needs.
I worked as a substitute teacher in several different schools across Co. Mayo before securing a long-term temporary role at Knock National School. During this time many schools employed me as an EAL teacher to support the Ukranian refugee children that were placed in their schools.
I was employed as a Phonics booster/Cover Teacher before taking over as the Mainstream Class Teacher in a Year 2 Class in January 2021. I taught the class through online learning during the lockdown of 2021, whilst also teaching the children of key workers and vulnerable children at the school. From September 2021, I class shared a Year 3 Class. During this time I was also a cover teacher covering all classes from Nursery to Year 6 (Age 3-11). I also carried out learning support interventions in these classes. I was the school Geography Lead from September 2021 where I was involved in creating a new curriculum for the school.
I worked for a teaching supply agency where I did day to day supply in different schools across Liverpool. I taught classes from Nursery to Year 6.
I carried out a placement in a Year 4 class from March 2020, I was involved In teaching the curriculum via online resources as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
I carried out a 6 week placement in a Year 1/2 Class. My focus subjects were Phonics and HASS.
