Since graduating from ECU in 2008 I have experience as a teacher in both primary and high schools. I left teaching in primary schools because I was approached to start new programs working with troubled youth. I am currently working as a teacher at Indie School Midland. In 2022 I started with teaching year 10, following them to year 11 and now teaching year 12 (Foundation) WACE. Prior to this I worked with youth at risk (15-18 year olds) at The Bridge@The Hub, Centacare Armadale for the past two and a half years. Prior to that for a year with MaxSolutions, again working with youth at risk in conjunction with the PCYC Stepping Stones program in Midland. My last primary school position was with students who predominantly come from non-English speaking backgrounds, it was a rewarding challenge to see them grow and develop. As I have experience in working flexible and with a variety of people of devise ages, cultures and special needs. I use these skills and my educational background to benefit this position. Before returning to university I worked for over 15 years in the medical industry in varying roles such as receptionist, secretary and officer assistant. Passionate Teacher with experience developing and implementing diverse curriculums covering wide range of subjects. Highly skilled at motivating students through positive encouragement and reinforcement of concepts via interactive classroom instruction and observation. Successful in helping students develop strong literacy, numeracy, social and learning skills.
Developed strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues by maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a supportive learning environment.
