  • My first challenge in my new role was to employ, train and develop a whole new office team to support our site and contractual obligations

  • This position involved managing all physical aspects of the site 501 room residential complex, 2 recreational rooms and car maintenance shelter
  • I am responsible for minor and major maintenance issues, asset management (including lifecycle replacement), environmental sustainability, grounds maintenance, housekeeping and purchasing
  • In this role I was 'on call' 24 hours a day on an alternating weekly basis should an incident occur outside business hours
  • I report weekly and monthly to our four governing bodies on various aspects of the facility from budget adherence to incident reporting

  • Our resulting team effort saw us achieve a 'runner up' placing in the Dalby Small Business Awards -Customer Service Award Category (2007)
  • We also increased profit by approximately thirty thousand dollars in our first year and a further thirty thousand dollars the year following
  • These results were achieved through a team effort to lift our profile and improve yield
  • After a great deal of interaction with local groups, such as the RSL and improved customer service, food and beverage standards and overall property presentation, we also achieved a 4.5 star RACQ rating (previously 4 star and with no refurbishment).
