  • Crushing Circuit operations - Had experience with open and closed crushing circuits in and around all plants This included many makes and models of jaw and cone crushers, also several screening Worked with several dust extraction units throughout plants
  • Gravity Section Operator - which includes Hoffman gravity tables, multi gravity separation units, geologic centrifugal Kelsey jigs, Falcon concentrators, IP jigs, gravity feed box jigs, cyclone operations, spirals and magnetic separation
  • Grinding section operation - which includes Conveyors, rod mills, ball mills, variable speed Sag mills, also includes charging of mills, scalping and sizing screens, scrubber trommels
  • Sulfide, nickel, copper, lead, zinc and tin floatation circuits - with complex open and closed circuit flows to minimise tails loss and to optimize ore recoveries by using air, in pulp and adding reagents such as, copper sulphate, Xanthate, SPA, SSF, CA540, Frother, Deprement C, Guar gum, Dsp009, Dsp330, zinc sulphate, SMBS Also limes, acids and caustics for PH control
  • Leach Plant - series of thickeners, leach vessels and stock tanks throughout the circuit to produce a final tin concentrate which includes neutralization and PH control using sulphuric acid, caustic soda and lime Process control operator - experience in all operational sections of the plant, experience in computers which involve the use of Citec programs, Rs-view (scadda) Microsoft windows, Microsoft office, Fox multi stations and analog pen charts and controllers
  • Nickel regaining - includes delcor vacuum filter, leach vessels, ammonia and impurity stripping columns, heat exchangers, hoesch filters, bag filters, Larox filters, thickeners, clarifiers, vent scrubbers ammonia absorber columns and reagents, ie ammonia, peroxide, carbon dioxide, also titrations such as nickel and ammonia were covered Reverse osmosis filtering system
  • Pump operation - warman slurry pumps, peristaltic, pneumatic suction pumps and wilden diaphragm pumps
  • Acid process components - radial flow scrubbers, settling cones, quench towers, cooling towers, electrostatic mist precipitators, ID fans, blowers, final absorption towers, drying towels, converters, turbine and boiler operation, demin water treatment plant, sulphur melting, filtering and storage, heat exchangers, product tube coolers, cooling water towers, and included loading trains with sulphuric acid, train inspections and brake function tests
  • Tailings dam management, from distribution, water recovery and water management around all sites
  • Logic thinking - good problem solving skills, understanding of problems within complex open and closed circuit flows
  • Assisting metallurgists in achieving plant targets
  • Shift Supervisor - Understanding the relationship between circuits and consequences on overall plant performance Manage process operations and Co-ordinate a team of operating, day crew and maintainer personnel Be accountable for plant performance and to ensure production, safety and cost targets are achieved efficiently Provide on job training to new crew members Monitor individual development and provide feedback to enable each team member to perform to his or her full potential To apply metallurgical and mechanical knowledge to address plant issues as they arise Liaise regularly with production staff to review production issues Hold regular tool box meetings with shift personnel to discuss relevant operational or non-operational issues, provide feedback on plant performance and other issues Review and update training manuals and standard task procedures
  • Underground mining - General mine operations - Truck driving including WAGS, Toro, Cat ejector and tippers, Operating Boggers/loaders, IT's, JCB,s, also have charged faces and prepped long holes and a little long hole charging Service Crew work including fan installation including vent, air and water around mine, pump installation and monitoring Grizzly and Skip operations
  • Extensive experience fitting within all plants
  • Experience operating and driving, excavators, front end articulated loader, Mobile Crushing plants, Merlo multipurpose tractor, overhead cranes (gantries), EWP, dump trucks and skid steer / bobcat
  • Good communication skills both orally and written
  • The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team efficiently
