  • Company Overview: TAFE Queensland Brisbane (TQB) is Queensland’s pre-eminent provider of Vocational Education Training. Offering programmes across a diverse range of disciplines including Business, Tourism & Hospitality, Nursing, Health & Community Services and Creative Arts. TQB operates ten campuses, educates 35,000 students, 1300 staff and has revenues of approximately $250 million per annum.

  • Lead executive in implementation of the continuous improvement programme at TQB & various statewide projects.

Accomplishments

  • Member of the TAFE Queensland (TQ) Brisbane executive team, comprising the General Manager, Executive Director Finance, Executive Director Education & Training & Executive Director Business Innovation & Commercialisation.
  • Executive lead for the establishment of new, and the reinvigoration of existing TQ campuses within the Brisbane region. These campuses include Southbank, Yarrabilba, Logan, Redcliffe, Bracken Ridge, and Caboolture.

  • Executive lead for the implementation of the whole of organisation Student Management System (SMS) in TQ Brisbane. This affected 1300 staff members and all elements of the student / customer life cycle from initial inquiry, teacher timetabling, finance, resources planning and allocation.
  • Established the Continuous Improvement Process initiative and TQ Brisbane Enterprise Programme Office.
  • Achieved a revenue budget performance in student recruitment and in consultation with the Executive Director of Education & Training, increased customer satisfaction in terms of educational outcomes and a positive student experience whilst studying at TQ Brisbane.
  • Implemented a whole of organisation CRM approach affecting approximately one thousand staff members across 60 campuses.
  • Implementation of a Customer Success’ approach to all TQB student facing administration staff.
  • Implementation of a ‘Digital Deep Link’ methodology for the TQB inquiry to enrolment process.
  • The directorate I lead rates consistently rates highest for employee satisfaction within the TQ Brisbane region.
  • Implementation of the ‘Sales Force Automation’ methodology into a national sales force.
  • Transformed the Oki Business Centre and Network Office Supplies from two unstructured private businesses into a single entity with distinct functions incorporating: sales; operations (service divisions), accounts/finance and general administration.
  • Increased the Oki Business Centre/Network Office ‘Revenue’ and ‘EBIT’ against Budget within 6 months.
  • Successfully implemented a ‘whole of government’ procurement solution for the management of marketing / printed product, digital assets, and warehouse logistics for the Queensland Government. This project was delivered within budget and the allotted timeframe.
  • Re-positioned Wellcom Brisbane as a viable supplier into the Qld Market. This was achieved by employing qualified staff, systemising processes, and procedures, retiring redundant equipment, and aligning the organisation’s core capability to customer requirements.
  • General management of all back of house functions for Wellcom Brisbane, including finance, human resources, facilities, plant, and equipment.
  • Managed Corporate Express’ NSW and Qld Marketing Services business, inclusive of six operating units with over two hundred specialist staff.
  • Successfully re-structured Corporate Express’ NSW and QLD marketing services divisions with the result of delivering more effective customer service and reduce operating costs, this was done by re-organising roles & responsibilities and implementing sustainable procedures and systems.
  • Lead the teams that successfully rebid for major tenders in Qld and NSW’s including Flight Centre, Brisbane City Council, Citigroup, HSBC, ING, NAB and Visy.
  • Initiated and developed high performance cultures through the recognition of teams and individuals. This was done by providing staff with opportunities to challenge their abilities with the intent of realising their full capability.
