Roles and Responsibilities

GRC Hurstville Campus has three Autism Support (ASD) classes, and one Autism/Intellectual Disability (AU/IO) class. My primary responsibility is to support students with diverse learning needs across both the Support Unit and mainstream classrooms. This includes providing targeted one-on-one support to a vision-impaired student for 10 periods per fortnight, ensuring equitable access to learning through assistive technologies. I have also worked one-on-one with a student experiencing mental health challenges, last year, offering consistent, compassionate support to help them re-engage with their education, manage emotional regulation, and build confidence within the school environment.

  • Supported students with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health issues, echolalia, ADHD, and vision impairments to achieve academic and social goals.
  • Assisting vision-impaired students to navigate with vision technologies like JAWS and the Focus 40.
  • Assisted teachers with resource preparation and equipment setup for lessons.
