The responsibilities in this role encompassed the General Insurance (GI) business which included (i) Personal Insurance (PI); (ii) Commercial Insurance (CI), both of which focus on the Australian market; and (iii) the Vero New Zealand business.
Personal Insurance (PI):
Responsibilities focused primarily on GI as noted above; my involvement as a Senior Accountant concentrated heavily on the review and collation/production of the consolidated GI results.

Functioned as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding indirect expenses in PI, which involved (i) driving the end-to-end month end process for indirect expenses including (i) data extraction from Cognos; (ii) data collation and manipulation in Microsoft Access; and (iii) liaising with the respective stakeholders within the wider Suncorp Group to understand the allocation drivers from the original cost pool, and communicating these to the P&L owners in the PI business against budget and forecast.
Functioned as a Finance Partner to two of the Business Units under Suncorp SBS: Personal Insurance Business Technology (PIBT) and Group Human Resources (HR).
Led engagements autonomously or contributed as part of a larger engagement team for a series of external audit assignments, e.g. Greening Australia, Bradnams Windows & Doors, Gallagher Bassett.
