1. Ph.D. Thesis (October 2021 - Present), Title: Biophysical cues regulating osteocytes: Implications for Bone remodelling

  • Developed and characterized osteocyte 3D model system by functionalizing synthetic hydrogel.
  • Designed and performed cell-based assay protocols to assess functional responses of osteocytes.
  • Performed confocal imaging & quantitative analysis of osteocyte morphology and dendritic architecture.
  • Prepared samples for label-free quantitative proteomics, including cell lysis, protein digestion and desalting for LC-MS/MS.
  • Performed bioinformatic analysis of proteomics data, including GO/KEGG enrichment, protein-protein interaction networks and interpretation.

2. Master's Dessertation (June 2017 – July 2018), Title: Anti-staphylococcal and Neutrophilic Chemotactic Injectable κ-Carrageenan Hydrogel for Infectious Wound Healing.

  • Developed an injectable κ-carrageenan based hydrogel ad characterized its physiochemical, drug release kinetics and rheological properties.
  • Isolated neutrophils from human blood and performed cell based assays to evaluate biocompatibility and immunomodulatory properties of hydrogel.
  • Handled Sprague Dawley rat model to assess invivo antibacterial efficacy of hydrogel.

3. Bachelor's Thesis (Jan 2013 – May 2014), Title: Inhibiting biofilm formation of S.aureus in CAUTI through quorum sensing.

  • Determined minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of inhibitor(AIP2) to inhibit biofilm formation.
  • Evaluated the anti-biofilm efficacy of inhibitor (AIP2) in clinical strains of S.aureus of catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) model.

Accomplishments

  • Awarded People's Choice Award for Intra-School three minute thesis (3MT) competition.
  • Qualified at the national level in GATE 2015 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) in the biotechnology stream.
  • Qualified as Trainee in the Biotechnology and Biopharmaceutical Skill Enhancement Program (B2SEP), receiving a scholarship for hands-on training in biopharma manufacturing techniques.
