Online Hate Detection Project
Led a team at the Online Hate Prevention Institute to develop a donor identification model through analysis of online interactions related to hate speech. Utilized Python with BeautifulSoup and Scrapy for web scraping from Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Conducted data cleaning and preprocessing using Pandas, followed by exploratory data analysis to identify patterns. Employed data visualization techniques with Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Power BI to create insightful graphs and dashboards that highlighted trends in user engagement and facilitated data-driven decision-making. Established criteria for donor identification based on engagement metrics, successfully compiling a targeted donor list for the CEO and enhancing the organization’s donor engagement strategy with actionable insights.
