I tutor Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities for students in Years 6-12
I am a passionate and hardworking prospective university student with an ambition in STEM. I will be studying Physics MSci at Imperial College London, working towards a career in research Physics. As the 2024 IB Dux of Canberra Girls Grammar School and a Gabriel Academic Scholar, I have demonstrated academic excellence throughout high school . I have fostered my passion in STEM and cultivated creative problem solving skills through participation in several math and science olympiads. I have also developed crucial collaboration and communication skills through my extensive involvement in Debating and Public Speaking. These skills were furthered through my position as Languages Captain in 2024 and Languages Vice-Captain in 2023, helping me grow into a confident and effective leader.
With a particular interest in research, I applied and was selected for the Secondary Student Training Program in 2021 where I undertook research in particle physics under an adjunct professor to design an electronics board for a particle detector. I produced a research brief and presented a research talk and scientific poster at a poster symposium. Through this experience, I learned about the research process, allowing me to developed communication, collaboration and research skills.
Alongside my passion for learning, I am also passionate about teaching. As a peer tutor at my school for 3 years and a currently self-employed tutor, I have gained experience in teaching concepts in different ways and identifying suitable approaches for assisting my students. Teaching students from Years 6-12 in a variety of subjects allows me to be very adaptable and strengthen my interpersonal communication skills.
