• Chairing staff meetings and ward business meetings
• Participation in Clinical Governance and Leave Committees
• Coordinating AVL patient assessments and admissions
• Leading accreditation preparation and quality improvement initiatives
• Managing and reviewing clinical incidents in collaboration with senior management
• Organising targeted in-service education for quality improvement

Demonstrated ability to maintain therapeutic culture while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with legislative requirements.

Senior Registered Nurse – Forensic Acute

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental state and structured risk assessments
• Oversee safe implementation of restraint and seclusion practices
• Prepare detailed reports for Mental Health Review Tribunal
• Coordinate therapeutic leave risk planning
• Manage complex medication regimes including Clozapine
• Supervise high-risk behavioural interventions
• Lead multidisciplinary discharge planning

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Comprehensive Mental State and structured risk assessments
• Behavioural management in high-risk patients
• Safe implementation of restraint and seclusion
• Medication administration including Clozapine and high-risk medications
• Dangerous drug register management
• Tribunal report preparation and court liaison
• Escorting patients to court when required
• Care planning and recovery-oriented interventions
• Drug & Alcohol withdrawal assessments
• Diabetes management including insulin therapy
• Psychoeducation and therapeutic engagement
• Coordinating therapeutic leave prior to transfer/discharge
• Discharge planning and interagency liaison

Trained Preceptor responsible for orientation and supervision of new staff and students.
