I Conduct investigations in regards to whether the drivers of emergency vehicles are operating within the regulations as set out in legislation and SOP's when they activate a red light or speed camera.

If they are not within the regulations I issue a Notice Requesting Information to the district office or agency. This is where a further investigation is conducted to ascertain if the driver has complied with the regulations.

During my time as a Compliance Officer I had the opportunity to act at a higher level of Sergeant on a number of occasions. One period was for nine months. During this time I was responsible for overseeing the operations of ten sworn officers and one civilian staff member.

As a police motorcycle rider my duties were to monitor other road users.

• Maintained constant surveillance of traffic to detect moving violations, suspicious activities and criminal behavior.
• Assisted in the investigation of accidents involving motor vehicles.
• Performed emergency response duties including directing traffic at crash scenes, responding to hazardous material spills, and providing medical assistance at accident sites.
• Patrolled assigned areas on a motorcycle to deter crime and respond to calls for service.
• Issued infringements for traffic violations observed while patrolling assigned areas.
• Provided security escorts for dignitaries and special events as requested by local law enforcement agencies.
• Participated in community outreach programs such as public speaking engagements, school visits, parades and other special events.
• Operated radar units, speed measuring devices, video recording systems and other specialized equipment used in enforcing motor vehicle laws.
• Documented all arrests made while on duty via written reports utilizing approved police forms.
