I started my apprenticeship as an Electric Motor Rewinder/Fitter in 2003. Although moved into the mechanical industry working at various mechanical shops including my own business as a motor mechanic and plant mechanic. In 2016 I moved to reliable conveyor belt as a Mechanical Tradesperson and my duties include, pulley refurbish and repair, roller change, skirt replacement and adjustment, fabrication, conveyor belt splice and cleaner repair and replacement. I have experience working on site and underground. While working at Reliable conveyor belt I have worked as a fitter and have worked on surface and underground belt systems. I have a good understanding of outbye mechanical work. The most experience gained was from Integra underground where I have spent a minimum of 18 months underground as a fitter and have worked on belt systems. I have been involved in belt replacements, pulley replacements, pulley lagging, gearbox replacement and aligning, development belt install, longwall belt install as well as solid woven splicing on longwall belt. At Austar underground I was inducted as an appointed fitter where I carried out maintenance to belt systems, including roller changing, belt repairs and splicing. I have also been involved in a development belt install at Ashton underground as well as maintenance to the belt system.
