This included budgeting, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, contract documentation, and vendor management—strengthening my project coordination, communication, and organizational abilities. In parallel, I provided private mathematics tutoring to primary and lower secondary students, sharpening my technical thinking and reinforcing my ability to simplify complex concepts and support others in their learning.

Production Support Process Engineer for Vincent (Ngujima-Yin FPSO)

  • Worked as Production Support Process Engineer for Vincent Field with a total capacity of 250,000 bbl/day of total liquid and up to 100 MMscf/d of gas.
  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of process conditions to ensure safe and continuous production to meet demand, including daily teleconference with Offshore.
  • Collaborated with Production Chemist to develop a reverse demulsifier dosing exercise to lower the OIW level in the produced water to meet the overboard disposal limit without compromising on the BS&W in the crude rundown.
  • Developed a H2S Management Plan for Vincent FPSO.
  • Raised and managed modifications and deviations on the offshore facility in accordance to Technical Change Management System.

Laila Project Execution Phase – Design Company Site Representative and Process Engineer

  • The project costs USD 330 Million, which involved a wellhead platform tied back to BEDP-A (a drilling platform owned by JV partner) through a carbon steel pipeline and bridge-linked to BEP-A (a processing platform).
  • Prepare CTR for Laila Conceptual Design and participate in tendering evaluation process.
  • Review of the deliverables from the Design Consultant to ensure that they are in line with the Basis for Design, standards, design codes and philosophies.
  • Manage design changes according to company’s Management of Change procedures and the challenges that come along the way.
  • Manage the design consultants as well as discipline engineers to ensure the design contract is executed within schedule, cost and quality.

Flow Assurance Engineer

  • Petai Deepwater Project
  • Provided technical support for concept identification phase of Petai Deepwater Project
  • Conducted and reviewed thermo-hydraulics analysis to identify potential hindrance to fluid flow (e.g. wax and hydrate problem). Proposed the most appropriate method to ensure smooth and continuous production throughout the field lifecycle to achieve maximum recovery. Analysis include:
  • Optimisation of pipeline size
  • Selection of cost effective pipeline insulation
  • Flow assurance strategy
  • Built an IPSM model to establish realistic production forecasts and the ultimate recovery of the reservoir. Evaluated the chemistry of Petai fluid, with support from SGSI fluid specialists. Coordinated inputs from various multi-disciplinary teams involving Production Chemist, Reservoir Engineer, Production Technology and Geomatics.

Front End Process Engineer

  • Worked as Front End Process Engineer within an integrated project development team.
  • Provided process engineering support for numerous projects starting from initial feasibility study, concept select/ narrowing to FID (Final Investment Decision) stage.
  • Maximised project value through integrated reviews whilst ensuring internal and external stakeholders’ expectation are met.


1) D12 Wellhead Platform Development

  • The project costs USD 206 Million, which involved a wellhead platform tied back to D35R-A (a riser platform owned by JV partner) through a carbon steel pipeline and bridge-linked to D35PG-A (a processing platform).
  • Reviewed design consultant’s work on D12 inlet separator sizing, the peak blowdown rate of D12 on D35, and the proposed tie-in locations on D35.
  • Contributed to the preparation of D12 Basis of Design.
  • Maintained close communication with JV partner on the tie-in scope (weight and space requirements) required for D12 on D35 to enable integrated study to be carried out as there are various fields tying in to D35.
  • Negotiated with JV partner on utilising existing equipment on D35 in order to reduce D12 development CAPEX.


2) F29 Field Development Plan

  • Provided support for F29 Concept Select. Carried out various feasibility studies to select the most economical and yet technically feasible option.
  • Carried out separator sizing exercise in order to assess the tie-in scope and space/weight requirements.
  • Conducted a feasibility study of tying-in F29 production into F23 platform through a subsea riser slot. Ensured existing production facilities in F23 have sufficient ullage for F29 production.
  • Carried out F29 C7+ Characterisation to determine the compositions of F29 fluids for future process simulation work and identified hydrate formation region to establish appropriate hydrate mitigation plan.


3) Selasih Subsea Development Project

  • A project worth USD145 Million. The project scope involved a subsea well, with a CRA-clad tie in spool to be tied-in via a tee to the main pipeline connecting CPDR-A (Cili Padi offshore drilling platform) to F23R-A (an offshore processing platform).
  • Conducted economics assessment to compare the cost of subsea versus platform option for Selasih development. Benchmark platform cost against recent platforms development in Shell.
  • Conducted a study to debottleneck the Cili Padi field inlet separator to accommodate the extra liquid from Selasih field and proposed the most economical option to handle the extra liquid.

Operations Support Process Engineer

  • Worked as Operation Support Process Engineer supporting two gas fields, F6 and F23, with a total combined gas production of 800MMscf/d.
  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of process conditions on both fields to ensure safe and continuous production to meet demand.
  • Process debottlenecking and optimisation of operations on both platforms.


1) Plant Change Proposal (PCP) Focal Point (2006-2007)

  • Implemented changes to 10 offshore facilities and 2 onshore terminals as plant change proposal focal point. Coordinated inputs from various disciplines involving engineers, operations, technical authorities and finance. Provided technical support for process engineering related requests.
  • Understand customers/stakeholders needs by constantly engaging them in discussions and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries effectively and efficiently.
  • Played an active role in assisting the roll-out of the new PCP procedures with continuous challenge on the workflow to ensure that the procedure is robust and effective.


2) Quality Assurance of F6, F23 and E11 produced water

  • Conducted and managed a corrosion inhibitor (CI) optimisation exercise on the 3 gas fields (F6, F23 and E11) to lower the OIW level in the produced water.
  • Analysed results and proposed the optimum injection rate without compromising the corrosion rate of the carbon steel flowlines. Maintained balance between corrosion inhibitor injections (optimum) whilst ensuring emulsion is minimised so that produced water has less than 30 mg/l of oil in water.
  • Conducted a more extensive study on the oil droplet size distribution study in order to propose a suitable technology to further polish the produced water (as a long term solution).


3) F6 Nitrogen Generator Package to minimise venting

  • Provided support as process engineer cum project engineer to minimise hydrocarbon emission by using nitrogen as purge gas.
  • Involved in the detailed design and liaised with Control and Automation, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Engineers to ensure consistent understanding on the design basis and requirements.
  • Specified process safeguarding philosophies and established criteria in the pre-qualification of potential sources for the nitrogen skid and associated tie-in materials.
  • Supported development of tender plan and invitation to bid. Carried out technical evaluations and presented the award recommendation paper to the tender board.
  • Verified materials take-off list at the warehouse to ensure smooth implementation of the tie-in scope on the platform.
