As a pre-service kindergarten teacher, my teaching philosophy is based on the fact that children are the dominant players in active participation in learning. I am committed to building enthusiastic, respectful and culturally responsive partnerships with children, families and the wider community, which I believe are the foundation for children’s learning, happiness and sense of belonging.
I think teaching is a child-led process in which I act as an assistive process that provides appropriate development, based on gameplay and inquiry-driven experiences to encourage children to proactively explore, develop creativity and independent problem-solving abilities. Through proper intentional teaching, active listening and inclusive communication, I aim to support each child’s unique learning journey.
This approach is closely aligned with the Victorian Early Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and Early Learning Framework (EYLF), which emphasizes responsive pedagogy, overall development and strong partnerships. By acknowledging the cultural background, family priorities and personal strengths of children, I strive to create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
