Skye Isobel McLelland

Grenfell,New South Wales

Summary

My name is Skye and I am from a farm near a small town in NSW, Australia which is 5 hours west of Sydney. For the past 6 years I have been at boarding school where I am currently completing my final year of study. I will complete my HSC (Higher School Certificate) at the end of October this year and will commence Medicine at university next year. Being at boarding school has made me highly independent from a young age. I am a very hard worker, which is evident in my results at school. My family values hard work, resilience and efficiency and I have been working on my family farm since a very young age. In addition to working on our family farm I have worked for other families and business in the area when I have been home in the school holidays. I am the eldest of 4 girls (my sisters currently aged 7, 12 and 16) and so I have a lot of experience babysitting, co-ordinating and organising my sisters and helping my parents in this regard. I have been a very active member of my school community and have thrived there since I was 12 years old. At school I have loved playing sport including water polo, ski racing, hockey and tennis. In my spare time I love to play cook and play the piano. Recently I completed my Grade 7 in the Australian Music Examination Board. I have also recently completed all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme (Bronze, Silver and Gold), which was a great challenge. As I complete my final weeks of school I look forward to travelling and gaining a deeper understanding of other cultures before I commence university in February 2026.
