Accomplishments

Leadership awards - 2021

I have served as manager for several years under the technical department overseeing the radio access network with the team of 14 staff consisting of 2 network engineer, 1 RF engineer, 2 electrical engineer, 1 land record officer, 6 network technicians and 2 drivers. However, the COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges for Bhutan Telecom in maintaining and delivering essential communication services. As the pandemic forced nationwide lockdowns and social distancing measures, the company faced numerous operational obstacles, including disruption of workforce and increased demand for internet services. I lead my team including the team from OSP section and stationed in the isolation center identified by the Covid taskforce within the head office premise. I managed the team providing the essential service to covid taskforce, relevant stakeholders and to regular customers. Amid the covid lockdown we observed a surge of data traffic that significantly congested the network which required us to install unplanned LTE identifying and 5G sites to decongest the network traffic. Despite the challenges, we ensured the network reliability and availability of not affected. In recognition through the performance evaluation I was honoured with the prestigious leadership award by the management of Bhutan Telecom for navigating my team through the times of difficulties and challenges.
