Business Tester - E2E Pay

The purpose of this role is to Support the NZ Team 1st Tribe with testing of our new people systems and team experience, specifically across our people management processes and Employee Central (EC) solution.

This role will bring proven knowledge and experience of Woolworths NZ People policies and processes to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of our new people systems and associated business processes and support materials to ensure they are fit for purpose and ready for adoption by our line leaders, team members and people team.

User acceptance testing activities could include business requirements clarification, review of new business process and procedures documentation, acceptance test scenario development, acceptance testing execution, business change impact assessment, training and support material content development, and support for business readiness.

This role specifically exists in the EC and People Data squad of the E2E Pay Value Stream, working under the direction of the E2E Pay UAT Coordinator and with the Business Solution Lead - EC and People Data and the other subject matter experts (SME) and functional consultants within the E2E Pay value stream.

This role will work closely with other UAT Testers in the E2E Pay value stream, and the Change, Training and Business Solution Lead in the E2E Team Experience & Enablement value stream, to ensure consistency of approach to UAT testing and solution deployment

Handling payroll queries using SAP Success Factors and salesforce mainly with all other basic softwares to resolve queries. Key Responsibilties as below


  • Partner with People Services customers and other HR teams to deliver ongoing services

  • Deliver accurate and timely maintenance of employee data services including supporting key business cycles and changes such as restructures, mergers/acquisitions

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through monitoring service performance and employee data analytics

  • Delivery of key customer requirements and process / system changes where required including Enterprise Agreement

  • Manage employee data within all Woolworths policies and relevant legislation, to ensure compliance

Parallel Testing

Worked on a project when woolworths limited decided to implement new payroll system and import all employees from old system "legacy" to new system SAP and success factor. During parallel testing, the following steps were performed to complete payroll system implementation.

  • All of the payroll information for a selected payroll cycle, including outputs such as taxes and benefits, was exported from the legacy payroll system and saved
  • The information that was exported regarding the selected payroll cycle was entered into the new payroll system Payroll and run using the new system
  • The results from the new system was then be compared to the results from the legacy system and inconsistencies can be addressed


Some of the tasks that performed on daily basis were as below


  • Checking information in the system and matching details of employees between systems
  • Raise SRS, Detect defects in the file and raise them to get resolved by leaders
  • Data cleansing to implement SAP/SF for all deployments Looking for Patterns in the file and worked on excel sheet by using smarts like V-lookup and filters etc to do all employees data validation.
  • Understanding new reports and work on them to make the pay run more efficient and on time.
  • Data validation for all deployments in testing environment before go live

Store Services Officer

Worked as a Store services officer ( SSO) in Woolworth. Providing best service, handling cash, providing solution to customer’s problems and keeping up the quality level are the responsibilities of this role, using PAYMAS, KRONOS,Success Factor for payroll and different types of software to get the work done. Handling cash and payroll processing. Duties including as below

  • Roster Strore Services Team to ensure all daily and weekly administrative tasks ( payroll, store funds, item maintenance and expense control) are completed to the agreed Company standard and timelines
  • Item maintenance especially in the area of price is accurate at all times
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Measures: Employee queries and Business Review results, Scanning Policy refunds, TPC reports
  • Store expenses (Print & Stationary, Requisites and Wrapping) are controlled to budget or better
  • Maintain integrity of store items at all times and ensure that 
  • promotional maintenance is completed to the agreed Company standard and timelines
  • Ensure that the National Enterprise Agreement is used effectively to maximise the benefits available
  • Accurately maintain store financial documentation and funds Measures: Business Review results, SAP, Scanning Policy refunds, TPC reports, WLP
  • Training and development for Store Services Team Members
  • Demonstrate and role model the leadership behaviours consistently
  • Communicate with Team via Team Meetings

  • Participate in one on one team meetings with the Store Manager
