Summary

I relocated from New Zealand to Mackay in 2022 with my husband and two young children, where we have embraced the vibrant community and proximity to extended family.

Originally born in South Korea, I grew up in New Zealand and began my healthcare career as a registered nurse before completing my medical training at Auckland University. I gained extensive clinical experience working in various departments at a regional hospital in New Zealand for several years. More recently, I served as a medical registrar for one year at Mackay Base Hospital, further honing my skills in acute and chronic care management.

Over the past two years, I have pursued my passion for community-based medicine as a GP registrar, with a particular focus on Indigenous health. Last year, I worked in an Indigenous GP clinic, providing care for patients with complex chronic conditions. This experience was both challenging and profoundly rewarding, deepening my commitment to addressing health disparities.

As I transition into the next stage of my career, I am eager to continue my lifelong learning as a GP specialist, with special interests in Indigenous health and women’s health. I am committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and contributing to the well-being of the Mackay community.
