• My husband and I were awarded parental care of my two nieces, aged 18 months and 17 weeks, back in 2008. My marriage broke down two years later, and I moved to Dyers Crossing with the girls onto 18 acres with our horses, cats, and dogs. The girls are now 16 and 17, and I would like to work for my sanity. I have a mortgage, and as both girls were diagnosed with Level 2 autism, my days have been busy with psychologists, OTs, speech therapy, doctors, and school meetings. I have had a lot of time to make friends and talk to people about anything other than kids and their needs. I take care of our 18-acre property, I keep our paddocks mowed using our good old John Deere. I garden, love to cook, and beach walk. I am always busy. I have just painted the upstairs bedrooms, but I am looking forward to something new in my day.
