Child Protection Worker for Children in Care

• Attend court hearings related to child protection matters as needed.
• Establish positive relationships with clients through consistent contact via home visits, phone calls or emails.
• Document all interactions with clients accurately and timely.

I completed a 525 hour placement as a social work student at Zonta House Refuge Association.

• Provided specialist support to women who are Department of Communities – Housing Authority tenants in the Southeast metro area as part of the Zonta House program.
• Engaged with women residing separately from their perpetrators, as well as those residing with perpetrators, through the Safer Pathways initiative.
• Implemented effective strategies to enhance safety for women and children within their homes, focusing on reducing domestic violence offending.
• Conducted comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning to mitigate risks associated with domestic violence.
• Managed cases and provided ongoing support through case management services.

My main roles include:

• Providing child centred play therapy to children who have experienced trauma.
• Preparing interventions depending on the child’s development needs, age and goals.

• Working in a inter-profession team with occupational therapy, speech therapy and physio therapy students.
