Body

I am applying for a position as a Disability Support Worker or Personal Care Assistant as I believe that this position is appropriate to my qualifications and working experiences as follows. As mentioned in my resume, I assisted residents and clients in all areas of personal hygiene and activities of daily living (e.g., showering, dressing, grooming and, toileting, changing incontinence pads, food preparation), epilepsy managed with Midazolam, peg feeding via peg tube and confidently using aged care equipment to support clients (e.g., lifting hoists to transfer disabled clients, modified wheelchairs, modified van). Furthermore, my strong interpersonal and social skills have been improved during my compassionate care and emotional support to residents. Additionally, I have developed effective communication with clients from different cultures and ethnicities, as well as taking care for clients who are with severe brain damage, quadriplegia, symptomatic generalised epilepsy, growth problem, intellectual disability, pump feeding. I am also caring for my daughter who is suffering with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with ADHD. My daughter needs support in some activities of daily living, community access, and these experiences has enforced my commitment to providing quality care for disability clients. These personal experiences have provided me with invaluable insight into the needs to help aged and disable people and the importance of providing them with the nurturing, respect and comfort that they deserve. Furthermore, from 2017-2019, I used to work as an assembler in T K T Clothing Pty Limited. This position helped me build a good employment history and strong evidence of the teamwork and independent working skills. During this period, I participated in various training activities to improve the safety, quality, and efficient for workplace productivity. Therefore, they are excellent skills for my aged care skills. If I successfully have a job at your organisation, I will not only bring my compassionate and responsible manner but also positively contribute to social community in Australian context.
