Supports a multidisciplinary team approach that prioritises residents' physical and emotional well-being across the aged care facility. This includes contributing to case conferences.
• Advocates for residents by cultivating team understanding of resident capabilities and therapeutic needs.
• Provides leadership, guidance and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners, ensuring needs of the resident are met in accordance with the residents' care plans, including therapeutic objectives.
• Models enablement of residents and provides direction and assistance to other staff members in performing their duties.
• Assists in performance development, including performance reviews and performance management of the Therapy and Leisure Partners as it pertains to physiotherapy programs.
• Assists the Manager of Residential Care to interview and select suitable allied health staff.
• Ensures appropriate equipment is available for use by allied health staff and contributes to the development of the yearly Physiotherapy budget, in consultation with the Manager of Residential Care.
• Provide supervision and sufficiently detailed information to Therapy and Leisure Partners to
enable implementation of physiotherapy programs by expected standards and scope of practice.
• Facilitates communication in the workplace that supports flexible and creative work practices.
