I commenced my apprenticeship in the beauty industry in 2019, attaining my Certificate III in Hairdressing. During this period, I developed specific industry skills including cutting, colouring and styling. I also developed generalised skills including reception and administration tasks, husbandry skills such as undertaking stringent hygiene practices. My role required me to work in a team environment for the purpose of delivering exceptional services to clients. I imparted my knowledge of beauty products, clearly communicating to clients the benefits and application processes of these goods. I have attained exceptional interpersonal skills with clients and co-workers during my career in hairdressing as the role required me to engage with a variety of people on a daily basis. I am technically proficient having used a variety of IT systems and software programs in both the beauty industry and my personal life.
In my role as a supervisor (second in charge), I was required to meet branch quotas with a key focus on client expansion and financial targets, while also managing deconfliction and WHS issues in the workplace. I successfully led a team of hair stylists to meet specified quotas. As a supervisor and mentor, I developed my team's skills and knowledge base through the provision of 'on the job training' and specific allocated training programs. In undertaking the role of a supervisor, I communicated and delegated duties to co-workers working with their strengths to achieve the organisations quotas, client retention and customer satisfaction.
The beauty industry is dynamic and diverse, subsequently I have developed a multitude of skills that enable me to work effectively under pressure and adapt to new situations. I am competent in dealing with a range of issues and am an effective decision maker in high pressure situations, demonstrated through my ability to manage dissatisfied clients.
I am enthusiastic, highly motivated and resilient; I believe these assets would be beneficial to your organisation in the role of a vet nurse as I have a passion for animals and take pride in caring for others. I am suited to the flexibility required for shift work which I have demonstrated previously, in my role in the beauty industry, through my commitment to working weekends and public holidays. I believe that I am a dedicated employee, having willingly availed myself to meet the business needs by backfilling for team members who have taken planned and unforeseen leave.
