Summary

I have learnt many desirable skills during my time at JB HIFI, and would love to be able to adapt them to a new work environment in which I can continue to grow. I am on the search for a new beginning, but this time something that is more aligned with my personal goals. I have been in leadership now for some years, and do pride myself in my ability to coach, mentor, discipline and achieve results. I believe I can bring a strong desire to work into any workplace, and will continue to hold myself to high standard no matter what I end up doing.

Merchandising Manager

I have been doing this particular management role since August '19, but have been at this location since May '24.

My employment with JB HIFI commenced May '10 and has involved a wide range of varying positions which has all aided me towards the position I am in currently.

My current responsibilities include:

  • Leading both a merchandising and back of house storeroom team (25 staff) by implementing effective rosters, teaching them necessary skills, ensuring outstanding customer service behaviour and having constructive conversations when it comes to areas of opportunity.
  • Inspire and motivate the rest of the store team (additional 27 staff) to provide excellent customer service, maintain their departments and aim for sales targets.
  • Efficiently run the service counter, including teaching the team how to use the POS system, answer and direct phone calls, answer warranty enquiries, resolve difficult customer escalations and maintain the counter space.
  • Promote safe work practices and general wellbeing within the store. This includes correcting hazardous behaviour, teaching the team how to carry out tasks in accordance with safety guidelines to minimise any potential risk, wellbeing checks and follow ups and uphold recover at work procedures for impacted team members.
  • Stock and price integrity throughout the entire store.
  • Organise and run annual stock-takes, along with required rolling stock-takes throughout the year.
  • Implement a strategic and strong promotional tie up every week.
  • Implement strong floor merchandising standards. This includes following any memo's provided for brand specific requirements, creating visually pleasing displays, price/ticket integrity, creating spaces that are easy to shop, think 'outside of the box' if the requested items or space is not available
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, support office members and area manager.
